Free Online Guitar Lessons?

I have only had one lesson in guitar lessons which was basicly on the different strings and their notes, but because of the economy my mom has been struggling and is making me stop. I still want to Learn Guitar but since I can’t exactly afford guitar lessons right now – is there any good websites that can teach the basics (how to read sheet, scales, etc) for free?

the best way to learn is by teacher, but there are still many helpful sites out there. these websites will help you get through Tab reading, chords, and much more. everything you need to know as a beginner.

now, after mastering tabs, go to www.ultimate-guitar.com and type in a song. make sure it is pretty easy, don’t go to hard on yourself. start with like smoke on the water.

scales. learning scales is also important, lets just say about everything in guitar playing is important. scales will help get your fingers moving and nail some solos. here is a list of guitar tabs http://www.ultimate-guitar.com/tabs/misc_scales_tabs.htm i would start on the first one, 36 normal and wierd scales, because they are short, easy, and easy to memorize.

chords. now, its going to be hard to read chords in tabs, so i would watch videos. youtube is a great site for all guitar lessons videos.http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Lcmb4RplClQ some songs are just a couple chords like twist and shout by the beatles.

those are some basics. now if your having a hard time getting used to tabs, just go to youtube, and type in “how to play whateversonghere” there are many videos.

there are many other guitar sites, just browse the internet, you will find 100 times more than what i listed.
